Admission Department Telerecruiter

Student employees must complete tax forms (W-4 Withholding Allowance Certificates) and proof of work eligibility (I-9) before beginning work as an Albion College Student Employee.

Completed forms must be delivered in person (bringing the required documentation) to the Human Resources Office which is located at 1003 Cass Street (same building as Campus Safety). All forms should be completed in ink, not pencil and students should use their permanent address on all forms unless the permanent address is an international address.

Hours of Work: 5 -10 Hours Per Week

Position Duration: Academic Year Excluding Breaks & Holidays

Pay Rate: $8.90 per Hour

Summary: The Admission Office is looking for current Albion students to work as Telerecruiters to contact prospective students via call or email.

Eligibility and Qualifications:

1. Enrolled as a full-time, on-campus Albion College student for the academic year during which the individual will hold the position.

2. Must be in good social and academic standing verified by the Student Affairs and Registrar’s offices.

3. One or more years of successful experience as an active volunteer or via campus employment in the Enrollment office is preferred.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Contact prospective students to give them more information about recruitment events and other admission related topics.

2. Establishes calling schedules for the group and for individual callers to ensure effective coverage for enrollment priorities and verifies hours worked for compensation.

3. Keep adequate track record of calls and contact through Slate database.

4. Recommends changes in objectives and processes for the telecounselor program and assists in implementing approved changes

5. Ensures that the telecounselor center is stocked with all supplies necessary for each session.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of College mission, enrollment management plan, services, policies and procedures.

2. Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word programs.

3. Ability to perform multiple and complex demands in a timely manner.

4. Ability to interact with students and parents in a positive and confidential manner, including those who are angry, upset or confused,

5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

6. Ability to work independently and self-directed.

Working Conditions:

1. Work is normally performed in a typical office setting and primarily involves computer and telephone work.

2. Must safeguard the confidentiality of prospective student, volunteer and college information.

3. Frequent interaction with the public.

4. Must demonstrate a professional demeanor and ethical behavior while representing the college.

5. Must be willing to use personal laptop and cellular telephone.
