The Learning Support Center (LSC) is seeking applications from current Albion College students for our Fall 2018 semester Academic Coach positions in the Briton Path Program. The Briton Path (BP) is a program, which helps incoming first-year students navigate the transition from high school to college level academics. Our academic coaches are central to this process; they model skills, share expertise, and assist students along the path to academic success. During the fall semester, coaches monitor student attendance at required weekly study table evening hours. In addition, during study table hours, coaches meet with students, individually and in learning community, to discuss academic planning, time management, basic learning strategies, and best practices. Academic coaches also peer tutor in specific subject areas or introductory level courses. Students who have struggled in the past with college academics or with the transition from high school to college and learned from these experiences are strongly encouraged to apply for our position(s).
