Game Day Student Employment Positions (Fall 2019)

Athletics

Under the direction of the sports information director, the athletic department is in search of Albion College students interested in assisting public address/play-by-play announcing, statistics and video streaming production

PA Announcers & Play-by-Play Broadcasters

• Serve as public address (PA) announcer at select home athletic events (tryout necessary).

• Or take your voice to You Tube and serve as a play-by-play broadcaster for various Albion Athletic webcasts, including soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, basketball, and baseball/softball.

• While previous experience (especially in PA announcing) is encouraged, it is not necessarily required. A tryout will be conducted for all announcers prior to hiring and it is helpful if you have already recorded samples available.

Statistics Staff

• Assist in the keeping of official statistics at athletic events. Students will have the opportunity to use the software that collegiate athletic communication departments nationwide utilize in keeping statistics. At the discretion of the sports information director, selected students can serve as inputters or spotters at soccer, volleyball, football, basketball, baseball/softball, and lacrosse games.

• Statistical knowledge of each sport is encouraged, but not necessarily required

Webcast/Video Production Staff

• Responsible for the equipment (including the setup and operation of webcast equipment – laptop and camera) of most Albion Athletics webcasts.

• The department streams the video of most home athletic events (soccer, volleyball, most basketball, lacrosse and baseball/softball)…football and select basketball games are streamed by an third-party company
