Eligibility and Qualifications
1. Enrolled as a full-time, on-campus Albion College student for the academic year during which the individual will hold the position. This is for internship credit or student employment up to 20 hours per week. This position will report to the assistant athletic director for sports information.
2. Availability on weekends and evenings and the understanding that this job takes priority over social activities on campus
Essential Job Functions
Hone your skills as a photographer by helping the sports information office visually tell the story of Albion College Athletics by taking pictures at cross country, equestrian, football, golf, volleyball, soccer, basketball, swimming/diving, baseball, lacrosse, softball, tennis and track & field events. May also be asked to shoot individual portraits and team photographs. Experience in sports photography and Photoshop helpful, but not required. Must be able to work weeknights and Saturdays.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Ensure the selection of content/photographs is consistent with Albion viewer trends to drive consumption to where the Albion audience is while applying sound editorial judgment
2. Well-developed management and planning skills, including an ability to balance and move forward multiple projects.
3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
4. Basic skills in photography and digital editing software. It is helpful if you have access to telephoto/zoom lens, but it is not required
5. Knowledge in best practices for sharing photography to external audience via social media and the website
Working Conditions
Most functions will be carried out in the sports information office or at athletic facilities. Involves extensive use of a camera, computer or related equipment.
Approx Hours:
up to 20 (varies depending on the number of events in a week)
Hourly Wage:
9.50
