PathFinder Student Ambassador

The PathFinder program will challenge you to discover meaning in your everyday experiences on and off campus. Meaning shapes our lives and we want to hear how your experiences on and off campus have shaped your life in a new way. As part of our staff team, PathFinder Student Ambassadors are representatives of Albion College and the Career and Internship Center (CIC) and are highly trained to assist the student population.

General Duties (all levels)
●       Assist with general office duties and preparing office materials
●       Develop and distribute marketing materials for events and services
●       Communicate with campus customers about PathFinder and provide proper guidance to services
●       Promote PathFinder events by tabling in KC and attending campus group meetings
●     Assist at events with set-up, take-down, and registration
●     Assist with and share social media posts and write articles as needed

Entry-Level Ambassador:
●       Develop a deeper understanding of the PathFinder Program
●       Greet guests, provide information about PathFinder
●       Design flyers for PathFinder events and distribute throughout campus
●       Promote events by tabling in KC and attending campus group meetings
●       Assist at events with set-up, take-down, and registration
●       Assist with and share social media posts and write articles as needed

Upper Level Ambassador:
●       Train other PathFinder Student Ambassadors about PathFinder Program
●       Assist with and share social media posts and write articles as needed

●       Assist other students with PathFinder Program guidance
●       Articulate the expected learning outcomes resulting from reflection
●       Train new PathFinder Student Ambassadors and build a team of successful student ambassadors
●       Promote educational and developmental opportunities to student colleagues

Students will be able to demonstrate the following skills through:
●       Demonstrate critical thinking/problem solving - helping fellow students articulate their experiences
●       Oral/written communications – communicating to students about meaningful writing/reflection
●       Teamwork/collaboration - working with other ambassadors and the CIC staff
●       Digital technology - using moodle management software and technology
●       Leadership - training new student ambassadors using knowledge gained during training
●       Professionalism/work ethic - maintaining and following a work schedule and demonstrating commitment to work
●       Career management - connecting skills gained in CIC to future career interests
●       Global/intercultural fluency - working with students from various cultural backgrounds

Learning Outcomes Assessment:
●       With the supervisor, student ambassadors will complete the Student Employee Performance Evaluation midway through the semester and at the end of the semester

Student employees must complete tax forms (W-4 Withholding Allowance Certificates) and proof of work eligibility (I-9) before beginning work as an Albion College Student Employee.
Completed forms must be delivered in person (bringing the required documentation) to the Human Resources Office which is located in 225 Ferguson. All forms should be completed in ink, not pencil and students should use their permanent address on all forms unless the permanent address is an international address.
