Albion College On-Campus General Student Employment Application Process

Student employees must complete tax forms (W-4 Withholding Allowance Certificates) and proof of work eligibility (I-9) before beginning work as an Albion College Student Employee.

Completed forms must be delivered in person (bringing the required documentation) to the Human Resources Office which is located at 1003 Cass Street (same building as Campus Safety). All forms should be completed in ink, not pencil and students should use their permanent address on all forms unless the permanent address is an international address.

Albion College is accepting applications from current students to fill a variety of needs for the 2017-2018 academic year. Position start dates vary but would be no earlier than mid August 2017. Only currently enrolled Albion College Students will be considered for these positions. Pay rate, dates of employment and number of scheduled hours will vary. Tasks and duties may include:

General office help
Receptionist functions
Departmental projects
Lifting and moving of boxes, furnishings and equipment
Assisting with upkeep of campus grounds, maintenance and custodial projects

Application Process:

Applications may be submitted on line at http://www.albion.edu/hr/online-employment-application Select General Student. Select General Student.

Students only need to submit a single application to be considered for a variety of campus positions (but not all). Interviews and hiring is handled by department supervisors.



Search Duration:

Applications will be accepted immediately and distributed to campus supervisors as needed. While limited interviews may be offered over the summer, typically interviews would be conducted after the start of the semester.

Albion College understands student employees are students first and employees second. Students are expected to meet their commitments to the employment arrangement, arriving on time, completing work during scheduled hours and otherwise acting with dignity and respect for supervisors, staff, other students and other members of the College Community.

Students are limited to 20 hours per work week for all campus jobs. The work week runs from Sunday through Saturday regardless of when a pay period begins or ends.

In order to work in an on-campus job or an off-campus federal work study job, students must be deemed eligible to work on campus by Student Employment. If you have held any other campus job you are all set. If you have never worked on campus before, you should complete the student employment registration process now.
